TCA is hosting a two week long "Concrete Bootcamp" experience during July 14-18 and July 21-25 in Nashville, TN. Students will work alongside concrete professionals to learn the basics of concrete as a material, how to form, place, and finish concrete in a variety of applications including slab on ground, walls, ICF, pervious, decorative finishes, and lots more. Baker Concrete, one of the largest concrete contractors in the US, will be coaching the students through the bootcamp.
The work day will begin at 8am each day and go until about 4pm. TCA will be providing lunch each day along with water, gatorade, etc. There will be no tuition fee to attend, but students will be responsible for transportation and lodging, if necessary.
PPE will also be provided (gloves, rubber concrete boots, safety glasses, vests, etc.) All required concrete tools and equipment will be provided by Baker and TCA, but students are more than welcome to bring their favorite tools, tool belt, etc. Students should wear work boots, long sleeve pants, and long sleeve shirts (prefered) each day, along with any other items like sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, etc. Please do not wear tennis shoes, and especially no open toed shoes.

July 14-18 (Week 1):
-Learning the basics of concrete, how it's made, produced, and some of its characteristics.
-Students will learn how to grade, form, and pour concrete slabs on ground through the first week. The slabs we pour will be used for a research project for the American Society of Concrete Contractors. They will also learn to form and place concrete walls.
July 21-25 (Week 2):
The following week is still getting nailed down, but will mostly include projects such as slabs that will receive different finishes (broom, troweled/"slick", decorative stamping, ect.), pervious concrete slabs, install and pour ICF (insulated concrete form), polishing concrete, overlays, and more!
