Pulaski Electric System
Stan Reece Concrete in Smyrna was selected as subcontractor for the addition to Pulaski Electric System. The purpose of the addition was for extra office space, storage for the new fiber optic equipment, and a fall-out shelter if needed. Mid South Concrete, Inc. supplied over 1500 yards of 3000 and 4000 PSI concrete for the 12” thick concrete walls and a concrete roof built with 8” Styrofoam board that serves to waterproof and insulate with a 4” concrete parking deck on top. This project is exceptionally unique and advanced. Another unique element of this project was the efficiency of Stan Reece and Project Supervisor, Steve “Hillbilly” Holloman. Reece, Holloman, and crew were a month ahead of schedule for most of the project and the project was completed in seven months with ease. Their organization made a complicated project seem like a simple everyday job. Pulaski Electric System is Tennessee’s oldest municipal electric system and the first in Tennessee to receive power from TVA. To grow the technology, it is upgrading to a fiber optic system to operate as an Internet Service Provider and Video Service Provider while supplying power to Giles County. |
